The biggest weakness of the 2015 team was almost unquestionably the pitching rotation. Going into the offseason, I believed Greinke was the answer to this problem. Removing a co-ace from the Dodgers and bringing him to the Giants was a double-whammy that just seemed too good to pass up. Obviously, that didn’t happen, and spring training numbers for the pitchers we did acquire don’t exactly spark the way-too-early hype threads that typically dot the internet around this time, but there is hope.

The San Jose Giants are now in their 22nd season affiliated with the San Francisco Giants. This makes the affiliation the longest currently enjoyed by a team in the California League. However, as far back as 1962, they’ve been part of the following teams in order: Angels, Royals, Indians, Athletics, Mariners, and Expos.
The River Cats, as a baseball franchise, has existed since 1978 and has been operated by, in order: the Athletics, Brewers, Pirates, White Sox, Angels, A’s (again), and finally the current-day Giants. But not all teams have called the beautiful Raley Field home – from ’78 to 1999, British Columbia hosted the (then) international River Cats.
